19th November 2010, The Portsmouth Evening News "we can do it" awards
nominate Cosham High Street in the "Best Street" section for
Neighbours who band together and show community spirit.
7th September 2010, Lee Fletcher has rejoined the CBA to replace Pete Brewer
who has stood down from the committee, Lee was a founder member
of the CBA years ago and is a welcome addition with all of his
ideas and contacts.. so thats good news, well the part about Lee anyway.
11th August 2010, we met the City Council & Colas to discuss the poor
condition of the street furniture and over all cleanliness of the shopping centre.
All agreed improvements are needed,
following the meeting they have commited to start to improve the area within 15 days
and have agreed to a further meeting in 12 weeks time
to discuss the progress made and work still to be done.
To say we are pleased with the outcome is an understatement..
14th July 2010, the CBA to meet with a City Council man with a view
to getting the planters mid High Street and outside Tesco re-stocked at long last.
20th June 2010, The CBA visit the Southsea Food Festival
to meet the traders and Market management team to find out
if it's possible to bring the Farmers Market back to Cosham.
Following a good response at the meeting, we will be going forward
with this project with a view to seeing the market in Cosham in 2011.
4th June 2010. Had a great meeting with Penny Mordaunt MP,
we found her to be very open, frank and informed. She agreed to give
us her full support with Colas and to attend some of the CBA meeting.
The CBA would like to thank Penny for her time today
and her ongoing support in our efforts to improve Cosham.
The NORTHERN ROAD BRIDGE is due to be demolished
and renewed in January 2011, the works will last for 6 months
this WILL affect all of us.
Due to Government spending cuts this is on hold as from July 2010
